Oh man, this episode! The ending to Farscape season three. I mean, I remember loving it when I first watched it live on the SciFi channel. That being said, I think a lot of my emotional capital at the time had gone into the operatic piece that was the two previous episodes. This one, in fact, is much quieter and much more insular.

Perhaps even more insular than I even remember. Ben Browder and Claudia Black (John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, respectively,) talked in the DVD commentaries about how a season finale isn’t supposed to be so much in one person’s head. I was like—is this season finale really that much different from the others? And yeah, I mean I guess so. Comparing it to my other favorite Farscape finale, for the second season…well, that one had, uh, Harvey taking over John’s mind, the death of Aeryn, her funeral, visiting a whole new planet where John could get the chip out of his head, and Scorpius sabotaging the surgery.

Here, in season three, most of the physically dramatic stuff only played out in John’s head (including Scorpius sabotaging his wedding. :P) Yeah, we had the so called “A plot” involving a rogue Leviathan standing in the way of burying Talyn’s remains. But that was mostly in place to give something external for the Moya crew to react to. I realized, with this viewing, that there’s no nuance to that plotline, because really it had little to do with the actual meat of the episode.

Speaking of which, another “thing” (not the appropriate word, of course) that had little nuance was guest star Melissa Jaffer’s character! She didn’t even have a name (yet. Or that was referenced yet.) This is something I definitely did not notice as a teen. I was always thrilled when the show introduced new characters, and ergo made the Uncharted Territories feel like a bigger place than just our crew. But now I’m realizing that the only reason she was there was to provide back up for John’s story arc. And maybe a little bit of foreshadowing about a certain addiction he’ll develop in season four! :/

It’s a very dark episode—both lighting wise (except for the Earth fantasies) and tonally. Season four, I think, might get darker than this, or might be on par with this, for the most part. But what this episode really hammers home is that Farscape is a character driven show. The scientific theories and alien realities of the week are not what make this thing run. The show is about realizing that the Moya crew is a found family. And then grappling with elements (infamous coin tosses among them in this episode) that will drive them apart.

Episode summary is here, courtesy of Farscape World.

Moya and crew are approaching a Leviathan graveyard where they hope to bury Talyn’s remains. But John is kind of sort of not on the ship at all! :P He is stuck in his head, and in fantasies about marrying Aeryn on Earth. Occasionally said fantasies are mired with doubts about how Aeryn and the rest of his friends might not fit in on his home planet. Oh, and he’s also still doodling wormhole equations on his arm, so Earth is technically a possibility for him. The problem is, almost everyone else on the ship is getting ready to leave to pursue their own agendas. Everyone except Pilot, of course, and Jool, and…who is this random new lady? She keeps popping up! Anywho. All of this stuff is put on hold as a rogue Leviathan attacks Moya! Said leviathan is off her rocker for whatever reason; she killed her own pilot and now attacks (and kills!) any fellow species ship who dares to enter HER graveyard. The backstory for this isn’t really all that important. It just gives the crew something physical to do for awhile—namely, find a way to disperse Talyn’s remains and not get killed by the rogue. Ultimately, “they” (meaning not John, and not Jool, either,) decide to distract and kill the rogue leviathan. D’argo apparently has enough fire power to do so aboard his own ship, Lo’la. He just needs John to handle the controls while he aims and fires. Aeryn helps distract the rogue in her prowler, and Chiana disperses Talyn’s remains with the moral support of Jool (Chiana also midwifed Talyn back in season one, if you remember.) Rygel is off being Rygel, I suppose. :P His real contribution comes at the very end, when the rogue is killed, and he gleefully reminds everyone that they are safe now and can return to their respective homes. We mostly focus on John and Aeryn during this scene, and neither of them look very happy about it. In fact, Aeryn wants to join an assassination squad, and John is waffling about what he wants to do. The old woman throws powder in his face and forces him to confront the possibility that Scorpius could make good on his threat and kill everyone at the fantasy wedding (and, er, the rest of the planet, John?) should homeboy open a wormhole to Earth. So, John feels stuck between a rock and a hard place. What he really wants is Aeryn—so he makes a last-ditch effort to get her to accept him in place of TJ. It’s an incredible scene, which I’ll have to go into more detail about later, and it ends with a coin toss. Our couple leaves their destiny in the hands of fate. …or do they?! Because once everyone has departed on their personal quests, Harvey reveals that the old lady knows (big gossip tree here) that Aeryn is pregnant! But before John can go after her (he’s sitting pretty in his module,) Moya (and Pilot, Jool and Noranti) is sucked into a wormhole?! As you do. :P Sheesh, John, didn’t you feel that one coming?! Aren’t wormholes your thing? Oy.

You know, at first I thought I’d dedicate this paragraph to “the A plot,” aka the rogue Leviathan, which was really more of a B plot, for all the time it (didn’t) take up. But what’s the point, really? As I stated before, the goal is not to get to know the character of the rogue Leviathan, or any of the context behind her actions. This is purely about dangling string in front of a cat in order to get him or her to move. :P Or else everyone would have departed for their respective locations already, and we’d have no final episode at all! The truth is there’s no point in rolling one’s eyes at the shallow plotline, because everything else in the episode was so good. So I thought I’d talk a little bit about the pivotal moment here—the (infamous) coin toss. Whose conclusion we didn’t even get to see, because really, does it matter? The prospect of leaving one’s relationship up to chance denotes a level of certainty, not uncertainty. The coin toss, Ben and Claudia asserted in their commentary, was a way to force John to let Aeryn leave without him. It apparently took a LOT of time to write and to block, and man is it one amazing scene. Ben even wanted to include it on his acting reel—because anyone watching could feel the pathos at play between him and Claudia—problem is, without context it just doesn’t make much sense. :P Oh, science fiction. Anywho. There’s more at play here, too. Of course there’s John wanting to assert that his life is with Aeryn. (This is the “bone” he wants, of the two choices offered to him via the episode title—wormholes or Aeryn.) There’s Aeryn still reeling from the death of Talyn John, and of course wanting to hide her pregnancy secret until she knows how to process it (so possibly forever). And yet she still loves John Crichton, who Moya John still is, so she doesn’t want to say goodbye to him, because she wants to leave that door open. Plus, there’s the music and the acting and grah. All these years later and I still think that the John/Aeryn romance has the same amount of draw. I get it—the show had to think up ways to keep these two apart, for the purposes of drama. :P But what a journey these two went on this year!

Some of the journey only happened in John’s head. :P OK, silly transition there…had to do something! Man, these fantasies were great (and apparently expensive to shoot!) I mean—it’s not the first time we’ve been inside John’s head, heh. But usually our excursions in there mean that he’s trying to work through whatever pressing problem presents itself in whatever episode, or he’s otherwise trying to dupe Harvey. :P Or Harvey is trying to dupe him! Harvey doesn’t appear in any of the flashbacks this episode. Pilot does, which, side note—can’t he not leave Moya? That’s a badly constructed fragment. And who knows—maybe he’d find a way to leave if he was offered a position at MIT! Though apparently that didn’t go over well. :P Man, the things you learn from deleted scenes! But getting back on track here. :P The first part of the fantasies are happy—if bittersweet. Ben pointed out that said flash backs were supposed to remind John that his happily ever after with Aeryn wouldn’t work in the easy way of a peaceful life on Earth. But it’s also a reminder for the audience, too. This romance is meant to be a struggle, guys! :P First, it’s an interpersonal struggle. Basically, Aeryn would never be happy on Earth; living away from the action of space, having to resort to English all the time because our planet doesn’t have translator microbes! And what about John’s other friends? Would Chiana be too sexual (like with the bachelor party and even with Jack, John’s dad?? OK, that last one would never happen, but it was a funny scene! Especially with the shoplifting, hee.) Would D’argo be too aggressive and too—lets face it, alien? (There’s a cut scene where he’s leading the conga line, lol…though honestly, it looks more like something his character from “Won’t Get Fooled Again” would do. Man, I am picky in this post! :P) Rygel—again in a cut scene—ends up engaging in human trafficking, which honestly, does sound par for the course with him! As for Jool, John finds a place for her in his fantasy but he doesn’t think about her much beyond imagining an aggressive grab for Aeryn’s bouquet. :P It’s all for the best, I suppose; Jool just isn’t that compelling of a character! Come at me! OK, so there’s the interpersonal drama. There’s also the bigger threat hanging over John’s head—you know, the one where Scorpius vowed to destroy Earth should John not deliver up the wormholes. :o Granted, in the last episode, Scorpy kinda let it go. :P But can John be sure? Would Scorp give up on revenge that easily? Especially if he could ruin John’s life by killing all of his friends (including Aeryn) on the day of his wedding? That scene certainly had all the pathos of believability. And once again, I was caught up in the music. Guh, Guy Gross!

But John’s friends don’t only exist inside of his head; they’re cruising around on Moya, too! :P So let’s check in now with Chiana, Rygel and D’argo. Chi’s visions are still going strong; well, she basically just has one that says “Danger, Will Robinson” right as the rogue Leviathan introduces herself by side swiping Moya. :P She also gets a touching moment where she talks to Moya alone, brings up Zhaan (wibble), and then sort of frells with the group plan…because she’s supposed to tell Moya to give up the ghost (no pun intended) and run from the rogue Leviathan. But instead she tells Moya to stand her ground. It was an interestingly cut scene; Ben and Claudia were talking about jump cuts and repeated bits of dialogue. Anything to spruce things up, I guess! Anywho, after this, Chiana is going to try and find her brother, Nerri, in the Nebari resistance. She spends a decent amount of time around John (which I love, even if homeboy was mostly absent), and she apologizes for not letting him tag along with her. John is cool with it—literal line, heh. If he’s concerned with anyone’s post-Moya plans, it’s D’argo’s. John is worried about the price of revenge, I guess, and he discusses it with D in a scene that is intercut so brilliantly with the fantasy scenes. Also—just to put it out there—did the Farscape writers give D’argo a Chritonism?! “Revenge is a dish served immediately”? I’m nitpicky. :P As for Rygel—well, he gives a touching, if brief, farewell speech for Talyn when Chiana breaks down. :( Otherwise, speaking of revenge, he’s off to get it over his cousin, Bishan, but John doesn’t seem to care as much about that. I should also mention that Aeryn cares about D’argo’s plight; she’s worried that he’ll get himself killed. It’s nice to see these two characters together; they are the stoic, warrior types to John and Chiana’s more emotionally vulnerable ones. So, I like how they were paired off at the beginning of the episode, yes yes.

One of the things that both Chiana and John are present for is the introduction of Noranti—or “old woman,” as she is known in this episode. Ben talked about how they skipped integrating her into the crew by always asking, “who is that old woman?” It’s a conundrum! She’s largely humanoid, just with exaggerated features; she’s weirdly personal and she’s also some kind of eccentric cook. Chiana takes to calling her by a nickname—Wrinkles—so you know she’s been around John for too long. :P But the truth is…Noranti doesn’t have much of a purpose this episode. Nothing that doesn’t completely revolve around John, anyway. She is there solely to bolster his plot—in two ways. First, she makes him sort of decent again, because it turns out he saved her and her people from the Command Carrier explosion. Which, you know, he caused. :P He’s kind of like Luke Skywalker from Star Wars vis a vis his relationship to the casualties on the Death Star. But hey—last episode did get into the Moya crew doing their damdest to give people time to escape the carnage! Anywho. Second for Noranti, her magic powder helps John see the truth about Aeryn—that his fantasy wedding wouldn’t work (and also, she’s pregnant. Though, side note—if Noranti meant to plant that knowledge in John’s subconscious rather than his active mind, why did she force Pilot to abide by John’s wishes to track down the former PK? And why did she bite poor Jool’s ear to do it? Freaky. :P) Poor Jool indeed! At another point in the episode, she advises Aeryn to not turn into an assassin, because that would be “going backwards.” Aeryn responds by hurting the Interon so that she’d scream and melt some metal. :P It was a weird scene, to be sure; even Ben and Claudia commented on it. Why would either of these women be spending time in each other’s company? They barely know each other, despite Jool’s kinda/sorta claim to the contrary. I mean, I guess the writers wanted someone to feed Aeryn that line, and maybe Jool was the best choice (or Chiana, but she was in the very next scene spilling her heart out to John! So that couldn’t work.) But speaking of Jool and Chiana, I liked their scene together when the former was comforting the latter. Because unlike with Aeryn, we have the receipts of Jool and Chiana, at least developing some sort of rapport together. Huzzah. Oh—and also with D’argo! Jool is the next person to express concern for his safety. They’d already had some touching scenes together in past episodes, so. Noranti is a bit up in the air, but is Jool now part of the crew?! Just maybe!

And finally, some behind the scenes stuff! There were a lot of deleted scenes for this episode; I think because it was so character driven. That’s what Ben and Claudia seemed to imply, anyway. Another one that might have been nice to see was the “goodbye” between Aeryn and Pilot, speaking of old friends—but it was too short and perfunctory anyway. Elsewhere… (thanks in large part to the Farscape wikia!), Executive Producer David Kemper had to dive under a wedding table for one scene, because he dallied in talking to Ben and Claudia, and then couldn’t clear the set in time! :P Aeryn’s pregnancy was only revealed to the “need to know” cast and crew; again, kinda like Star Wars and the “I am your father” reveal! (The others thought Noranti said “Aeryn really loves you.”) The wedding centerpiece was Moya; I finally noticed that on this viewing, just as the PKs were blowing it up! :/ One of Aeryn’s wedding dresses was a Katralla costume from season two! There’s something Freudian in that, heh. (Speaking of psychology—John obviously has an attachment to the phrase “I’ve never felt better,” considering that both TJ and his fantasy Aeryn died with those words on their lips.) Going back to my comment about Pilot never making it down to Earth—apparently they needed crew people of all departments to carry the puppet up two flights of stairs! Told you! :P And, the Aeryn/Jack “fears for future” brunch was shot in the same hotel as the wedding reception. Understandable. Claudia is the one who suggested the infamous coin toss! She’ll go down in history! And apparently one of the deleted scenes introduces Elak and a colony of Interons, both of which will play big roles in the beginning of season four? I don’t remember watching that scene on my DVD. But ok; I’ll take your word for it, wiki! :P

Favorite Chrichtonism: Dog - animal. It's a pet. He has this bone - it's the most important thing in the world, carries it everywhere he goes. And ah - one day he goes down to the water and he sees another dog with a bone, reflected on the surface. It's identical and he wants that bone too. So he opens his mouth to grab it - and his bone falls in the water and it disappears. It's gone. And he's left standing there... looking at himself. And he has nothing.

Rygel: Oh - Talyn again? I told you we should have dumped his debris. We wouldn't even be here!

Aeryn: Without Talyn you wouldn't be here so show some respect.

Rygel: Respect?! My tiny, shiny, heinie! It's gonna get us killed! *re Old Woman* And who the frell is this?

*someone needed to have “the talk” with Aeryn, I guess?*
Jool: When we get out of this, are you still gonna look for that ex-Peacekeeper unit?

Aeryn: Can you keep the light on where I'm working?

Jool: Sorry. They assassinate people right?

Aeryn: The squad aims to stop terrorism and protect people. Didn't you learn anything on the Command Carrier?

Jool: Want some advice?

Aeryn: Look Jool. I'm not Crichton’s mate. I'm not tied to him in any way.

Jool: In the short time I've known you - you've changed so much. Don't go backwards. Assassinating people? Seems like going backwards.

*I always found this sequence to be a little sad, cos Chiana is trying to reach out to John, and he’s annoyed and dismissive in fantasy land*
Chiana: Yeah... Hey you know - you know what I said before about... about - not wanting you to come with me? That wasn't exactly right.

John: Pip - it's cool.

Chiana: *fantasy Pip, frolicking amongst her clothes* Where ya been?

John: Not now. This is not right.

Chiana: *in reality* I would love you -to come with me. But you know I - I gotta find my brother an' - an' he's in this resistance thing and... and as if I'm gonna find him - hangin' out with someone who looks like...

John: A - Peacekeeper? It's cool.

*gotta be careful with your drug dealers, oy*
D’argo: JOHN! *has to tongue him, cos homeboy be trippin* What the frell happened to him?

Noranti: N-nothing... Nothing. He'll be fine.

D’argo: What did you do?

Noranti: Perhaps a slight misjudgment of his weight. It won't occur again I'm certain.

*John grappling with truths in fantasy land*
Aeryn: Don't you ever get bored - living on the same planet, never going anywhere? And what about living in a house? It's too quiet - there's no engine noise.

Jack: Well wait till summer - when the air conditioning kicks on.

Aeryn: John has this fantasy about us - having kids and dogs and a pool and - barbecues...

Jack: Must seem a strange culture.

Aeryn: Jack - I am - miserable here. And he just doesn't see it. I'm going to get married - end up like Betty Crocker. I just keep wondering when he's gonna wake up.

*Chiana breaks from the crew’s plan when talking to Moya, so maybe that’s why John imagines her going all out on fantasy Earth*
Chiana: Listen Moya - uhhh... Everyone is uh... is really concerned... about your plan. I-I mean, even Aeryn thinks that - that maybe Talyn should be laid to rest someplace else. I once, um... I once asked Zhaan... I once asked Zhaan - h-h-how she got along with you so well. [Edited] She-she-she said that uh... that the-the key - that the key was to be honest. [Edited] No matter what. Well Moya... this-this is what I think... I think that you should bury Talyn wherever you frelling WANNA BURY TALYN!! And I think that the - that the frelling tralk should-should get out of our frelling way. There. That's - what I think.

Chiana: *still frolicking with clothes in fantasy land* Hey Crichton - where ya been?

John: What is all this?

Chiana: I - went - SHOPPING!

John: Shopping? No! No you don't have any money!

Chiana: Lifting. Shop - lifting. But look! Look at these cool presents I bought the bridesmaids! You and Aeryn can give 'em to 'em!

John: Sit!

Chiana: Aaaww! Hey, I spent some time with the boys. *scissoring her legs while lying on the bed* Think I found who the best man is...

John: W-why are you doing this? Why can't you just act like you always have? Fit in! W-why do you have to sleep with all of my friends?

Chiana: Awww! This is such a repressed culture!

John: *swatting her away* Back!

Jack: Son?

John: Dad!

Chiana: Dad? Hi! *jumps into Jack’s arms for a heated makeout session*

John: Dad?

Jack: Son - your mother has been gone for so long.

*at least John has some feeling for Chiana in reality. Also, of course, reminder for the audience :P*
John: So you'll be there?

Jool: Yeah - but Chiana can handle it-

John: Just - be there. Chiana midwifed Talyn’s birth. She shouldn't have to bury him alone.

*it’s nice to get some levity up in here sometimes? :P*
John: Be careful.

Aeryn: I don't have to fly with D'Argo.

D’argo: I heard that!

D’argo: Now - do you remember everything I told you about flying the ship?

John: Almost nothing.

D’argo: Excellent.

D’argo: Look - keep it steady! If I don't get accurate resonant capture then we're all done for.

John: I thought you said this thing only responds to your DNA.

D’argo: It does. That's why I covered all the controls in-

John: Eeww - that's - why I'm wearing gloves.

*big fan of the juxtaposition in these scenes*
John: *fantasy land, on Sydney dock* I understand, it's difficult.

D’argo: It's not DIFFICULT!

John: Yes it is - everybody thinks you're a freak.

D’argo: Everyone thinks I'm a freak. HEY BOYS! HOW'RE THEY BITIN'?

First Boy: Terrible, Mr D'Argo.

Second Boy: Can you help again?

D’argo: See? They don't think I'm a freak. *uses qualta blade to kill fish*

John: What the hell are you doin?

D’argo: *reality, on Lo’la* What do you think I'm doing?

John: I'm not entirely sure - but don't kill Aeryn.

D’argo: *fantasy land* I'M NOT GOING TO KILL ANYONE! WHY ARE YOU SO DISAGREEABLE?

John: I'm not disagreeable!

D’argo: You ARE being disagreeable!

John: I got things on my mind!

D’argo: I am sorry that Aeryn is leaving you. But don't take it out on me.

First Boy: I heard she left you at the altar.

John: Shut up!

D’argo: HEY!

John: *reality* It's not just Aeryn. You're all leaving.

D’argo: Whenever you thought you'd found a wormhole you fell over yourself to dive in - don't begrudge us our dreams.

John: I don't. It's just a hell of a dream you got there D - killin' a man.

D’argo: *fantasy land, maybe so he can walk away at the end of his line?* I don't wanna kill him - I just want revenge. =

John: What do you think you're doin'?

D’argo: *reality* You know when all of this is over John, I think you should head straight for Earth.

John: No - that's not an option. The Peacekeepers would follow. *cut to fantasy* Yeah - I should NEVER have come here! I should never have come to Earth. I shoulda left you guys on Moya!

D’argo: *reality* If it's such a simple choice why're you agonizing over it?

John: Because I'm an idiot.

D’argo: *fantasy* YEAH YOU ARE AN IDIOT! I'M AN IDIOT! WE'RE ALL IDIOTS AREN'T WE BOYS?

Boys: Yeah!

D’argo: EVERYONE'S AN IDIOT!

*a eulogy for Talyn*
Chiana: Talyn... Mmm... our family...

Rygel: May I say a few words?

Chiana: He uh... he was a lost soul... ...searching for... uh...

Rygel: Talyn was special. A joy to his Mother and a credit to his species - both of them. With fondness we lay Talyn - offspring of Moya - to rest in his Sacred Ground.

*…and, once the Rogue Leviathan is dead, a (happily delivered) eulogy for the Moya crew :/*
Rygel: You - know what this means? It means we're done. Talyn rests where he belongs. Scorpius has no ship. We're all unhurt. Healthy - and - - no one's trying to kill us! It means, finally - we can go where we want to! We can go home! Hooommme! We're going home! I'm going home...!

*with the Rogue Leviathan gone, Noranti is our next plot device*
John: Who are you old woman?

Noranti: It doesn't matter who I am. But I know who you are. You made them come back and rescue our lifepod after the Command Carrier imploded. I'm no longer a prisoner because of you. So when the others got off - I stayed on Moya - to repay the debt.

John: By messin' with my mind.

Noranti: Oooh nooo! No - I would never leave this on boil for so long. Would you like some before it-

John: What did you do to me?

Noranti: We all lie. The lies that spew outward do much less damage than the ones that stay hidden.

John: When I was a kid... I dreamed of outer space. And then I got here - and I dream of Earth. And lately... none of my dreams work.

Noranti: Do you know why?

John: Tryin' to make it the way it was... The way it... never was.

Noranti: Did my herbs help you?

John: They stripped away the lies. But I ran from it. And I am... so - tired - of running.

*the lines themselves aren’t all that special, but MAN the pathos of this scene*
John: No! Aeryn! No baby - you're gonna be all right. You're gonna be all right...

Aeryn: *as she dies* Don't you worry about me - I've never felt better.

John: NO-OOO! Oh...No...

Scorpius: Well then John. Tell me - what did you expect?

*the scene before THE COIN TOSS*
John: I'm coming with you.

Aeryn: No. I'm sorry.

John: Well you're not leaving without me.

Aeryn: What do you want?

John: You.

Aeryn: I'm afraid it's not that easy for me. You see - you died. I watched that happen and yet you're still alive. I have to go.

John: Then say good-bye.

Aeryn: We don't say good-byes.

John: We do this time. You see - you leave and then you come back and I-I can't handle the in-between. Aeryn - Say good-bye.

Aeryn: Fine. Good-bye Crichton.

John: John! My name is John! “Good-bye John.“ To my face.

Aeryn: Guarantee you won't - - die in my arms again!

John: Guarantee you won't die in mine! )

Aeryn: I can! By leaving!

John: Do you love John Crichton? Not him. Not me. John Crichton.

Aeryn: Yes. *quick smooch!*

John: Then what does that taste like?

Aeryn: Yesterday.

John: Well nobody can compete with that. I am so much better dead.

Aeryn: I can't - do this - again!

John: SHOOT! I CAN'T LET THE ONE THING I LOVE FLY AWAY IN A CRAPPY LITTLE SHIP!

Aeryn: You once said it was as if the fates meant for us to be together.

John: And I believe that.

Aeryn: Well then if it's true we will be together again.

John: Running away is not fate - Aeryn. Running away is running away! Fine if you want fate - here. *the coin!* I've-I've got fate. Fate. Here.

Aeryn: What?

John: Coin toss.

Aeryn: What? Like that side up - you stay?

John: Absolutely. Fate.

Aeryn: Just make a frelling wormhole and go home.

John: There is - no - home! There is no wormhole! There's only yo- Aeryn... Anywhere in the universe. You pick the planet.

Aeryn: It's too late for that.

John: It's not too late-

Aeryn: No you're not listening to me! It's too late for me!

John: You do this - and we'll never see each other again.

Aeryn: Do you love Aeryn Sun?

John: Beyond hope.

Aeryn: Then don't make me say good-bye and don't make me stay.

*the goodbyes John’s friends leave him with*
D’argo: Anything positive I do with the rest of my life will be because of you. Take care my friend.

Chiana: You better not forget me. You better not ever forget that I love you.

Rygel: Of all the lesser species - I admit I've grown to like yours the best.

Aeryn: We're in the hands of fate now. We have to trust in that. Fly safe. Good-bye John Crichton.

*…but then, THE CLIMACTIC REVEAL! To be resolved, maybe in season 4! :P*
Harvey:: The human subconscious is a fascinating place. Malleable. Permeable. Fallible.

John: Harvey you gotta get your nose outta the dictionary.

Harvey:: Guess what I found there John?

John: Go away. I don't feel like talkin' right now.

Harvey:: I will honor your wishes John. However - having chosen our partnership above all else, your well-being is now irrevocably mine. My gift.

Noranti: Be forgiving... Be kind... Better angels... Her life... Her world... On her time... You will know... Aeryn... is... with child...
